Say what you will about the artistic merits of the Law and Order franchise, there's no denying that Dick Woolf and Co. are pretty freaking consistent. Part of the reason why the show continues to dominate the criminal drama genre is due to the fact that every time you turn on L&W, you know exactly what you're getting. Ground breaking television it's not, but sometimes you just need a little TV soul food. While the show has splintered significantly over the years, there have been a core group of actors that have held the show together. Part of this core is Jesse L. Martin. The actor has been re-signed to a 13 episode deal. 13 more episodes of Law and Order featuring Jesse Martin is a good thing, especially considering Milena Govich's upcoming departure. I don't think die-hard fans could have handled the departure of the hottest actress to grace the show's set and Martin. Baby steps, friends. Baby steps.
