News > Is There a New Spawn Animated Series in the Works?

A reader sent this link to us today, an IMDB page for what looks to be a new animated 'Spawn' television series set to drop sometime this year.  I'm pretty split on believing this right now as IMDB is a notoriously faulty source for information, and the only confirming fact I can find is on the Spawn: The Animated Series Wikipedia page.  Sadly, that page just links back to the IMDB page I've already scorned.  On top of those glaring fears, how come Macfarlane hasn't been hyping the shit out of this in his recent extremely vocal interviews (does anyone else think Todd Macfarlane is the next Rob Leifield?) about a new Spawn film.  Perhaps all of his vitriol isn't aimed at a new live-action feature, but instead he's just, in a really stupid way, trying to hint at the upcoming appearance of this show?

Though I'm not entirely on board this rumor, I'd love to see it happen.  The old 'Spawn: The Animated' series was the best thing to happen to the 'Spawn' property since, well, ever.  Another trip to that gory world, would certainly float this man's boat. According to IMDB Keith David, Michael Jai White AND Mark Hamill are on board for this bad boy ... ... so if it actually happens, it could be pretty great.

You know ... ... it is Comic-Con weekend, perhaps this could be a big, er sort of big announcement at one of the panels.  Or it could just be IMDB screwing up again.
