Finally, FINALLY, they've announced that Heroes, the uber-popular series about people with special powers who get involved in, er, things, is coming to DVD.  The 7-disc set, featuring all 23 episodes, will release on both DVD and HD-DVD on the 28th of August.  Just enough time for me to waste an entire week gorging myself on the series before the second season revs up again.  Fans of the show will be most excited by the inclusion of the original 73-minute pilot, supposedly featuring a character no average man has ever seen.  Let us not forget that the set will come with 50 deleted and extended scenes.  Fanboys change your diapers...now!  Also in the extras will be the stunningly boring featurettes that will most certainly feature cast members talking about how great they are and how great the other cast members are and how great everything is because they're being paid to say that crap.

This is great.  I haven't had the time or energy to get my crap together enough to watch this show regularly or on I-Tunes, but when this hits Netflix, I'm all over it.  Sure, a lot of critics are poo-pooing the show, but from what I've seen it has all the magic of Lost and none of the dreary lack of focus.

I'm marking the week of August 28th as pretty much an extended sick day.
