News > William Friedkin Visits CSI

Many many moons ago, before CSI-star William Peterson was only known for his role as William Grissom, there was a gritty little film you may have heard about called To Live and Die in L.A.  It featured Peterson as a drug-addled, corrupt cop, getting himself in to all sorts of problems and it pretty much made him as an actor.  Director William Friedkin, you may know him from the new Ashley Judd flick Bug or a little film called The Exorcist, was the mastermind behind the nasty, darkside look at L.A., but the two considerable talents haven't worked together since.

That is until now.

TV Guide's Michael Aussielo is reporting that Friedkin will step behind the camera for the 8th episode of the new CSI season, an episode that features the 'seedy underworld' of the gambling in Las Vegas.  Though this sounds entertaining, I think it'd be a lot more entertaining if Friedkin directed an episode about a violent war that erupts between Siegfried, Roy, a white tiger, the midget from Cirque du Soleil, and Grissom.  Throw in some banging 80s tunes, and this could be a Friedkin spectacular.
