Marvel Entertainment and Method Animation have partnered to create a new "Iron Man" animated series whose first episode should be coming out in only a matter of months. According to , 26 half hour shows have been ordered and a DVD release of selected episodes will precede the actual appearance of the series on TV. The episodes will begin airing after the release of the Jon Favreau-directed feature film that will hit theaters one month from today.

Marvel launched another "Iron Man" animated series in 1994 that ran for 26 episodes, as well as one in 1966. Robert Hays and John Vernon played Tony Stark in those series respectively, so the pressure is on for Marvel to find another classy actor to (vocally) fill those big metal rocket boots.
