News > Jericho: Canceled Again

All the nuts in the world can't save it this time. CBS renewed the cult series for another seven episodes after it was officially canceled at the end of last season, but the ratings haven't picked up, and it isn't financially feasible to keep airing the post-apocalyptic drama. The first time the show was canceled, fans mailed CBS 40,000 pounds of nuts in a reference to the season finale, in which Skeet Ulrich's character refuses to surrender by uttering the immortal line first said by General Anthony McAuliffe during the Battle of Bastogne: "NUTS!"

That seems to be all she wrote as far as CBS is concerned, but fans are hopeful that another network will pick up the unpopular and unprofitable show before too long.
