News > "Scrubs" Goes Out with a Whimper

April 28, 2008

Next week's episode will be the final half hour of "Scrubs" on NBC, though you'd hardly know it to ask their publicity department. The medical sit-com will almost certainly move to ABC in the fall for an 18 episode eighth season, which is expected to be the final one. According to , NBC has been reluctant to acknowledge that they are losing one of their long-running Thursday night comedies to another network, which has also caused reduced promotion for this year's season finale. Even more unsettling for NBC has to be the fact that "Scrubs" has shown an increase in viewers since returning from the strike. It has so far outperformed last year's average by 17%, though some of this may have to do with its pairing with the popular show "The Office."
