The production company of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, Gary Sanchez Productions, has seen its first sitcom pitch go through to the pilot stage with HBO. The as-yet-untitled project (formerly titled P.E.), will focus on a retired professional baseball player who returns to his hometown to find that he is only employable as a substitute P.E. teacher. The pilot was written by the team of Jody Hill, Ben Best and Danny McBride who also put together the independent comedy The Foot Fist Way, the film which birthed their relationship with Gary Sanchez Prods. McBride stars while Hill directs.
