For weeks, and weeks, and weeks, we've all waited, finger-nails bitten, hair unwashed, desperately wondering who would replace Rosie O'Donnell on estrogen-pumping morning talk show 'The View'.  Rumors have flown, feelings have been hurt, many many males have paid little attention.  But now, finally, the wait is over:

Whoopi Goldberg has joined 'The View'.

Oh.  My.  God.

TV Guide is reporting that Barbara Walters announced the at-times, raunchy comedian on today's show, saying 'She is brilliant, funny and irrepressible, and is an enormously popular and talented star. We are delighted that she is going to join the program as our moderator. This is going to be a great new chapter for The View.'

Honestly, no matter how many bad movies Whoopi makes (and they're have been many), and no matter how washed-up she's become, Goldberg is a funny, funny lady and though I've never watched 'The View' it's good to see her back in the limelight.

God, even writing that story made me feel like less of a man.
