News > Whoopi joins The View

August 1, 2007

We can all now breathe a collective sigh of relief. According to TVGuide, The View, that bastion of critical and hard line journalism, has filled the seat left vacant by a certain large and annoying co host. Whoopi Goldberg has signed on to replace the wayward Rosie O'Donnell, who left the show amidst a flurry of scandal, anger, and ill will. It seems that her co-hosts felt the same way about the angry wench as we did. Phew. Rosie's departure left a man-sized hole in the shows lineup, and the producers have been scrambling to find someone with a high profile that was willing to fill the spot. Shockingly, Whoopi answered the call. Poor woman. She will now sit beside Barbara Walters, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, and a couple others. I will still refuse to watch the show, as I was pulling for Bob Barker to join the "lovely" ladies. Thanks for nothing, ABC.
