Our normal "Lost" recap writer is on vacation, so it's gonna be a bit shorter this time. But...first off, no one died...so that TV Guide "5 Deaths before May is out" thing hasn't been set into motion yet.That being said, they showed a possible Charlie death over and over again - it was a Desmond vision and it was Charlie getting an arrow to the throat. THWACK!!!
Desmond thinks he sees in his vision that if Charlie dies, his girlfriend Penny will parachute onto the island. Why? He doesn't know. But he tries to set the vision into motion by bringing Charlie, Jin and Hurley into the jungle.
At the same time, Sawyer and Jack have a pissing contest (this show seems to love those) over Kate, though it's mostly one sided - Jack clearly is disturbed since coming back to camp. Sawyer has one of the funniest lines of the season when he catches Juliette and Jack sharing a conversation...something along the lines of "You guys discussing who your favorite 'Other' is?" Ohh Sawyer...you are the voice of the viewer. And we love you for it (see the "Who are you?" segment from the recent Paulo gets buried alive episode).
Back to Desmond - we keep seeing a completely inane and boring flashback where we learn he tried to join the priesthood. K, it might be significant but it was so undercooked it almost ruined the episode.
Anyways, Desmond comes close to recreating his vision and when the four guys in the jungle hear a helicopter crash, it seems his plan is working. But he pussies out right before Charlie gets an arrow to the throat, throwing off the whole space time continuum. The four of them find a girl in the jungle but it's not like his vision anymore...and rather than being Penny, it's some random mystery girl...who knows Desmond's name. DA Da DAAAAA!!!!
Anyways, it was a great episode except for the flashbacks. These flashbacks are starting to get tedious and we're all looking forward to the episode without them.
