Although Kristin Bell isn't around tonight, the after effects of her presence are, and we open up with Peter saying goodbye to Caitlin, apologizing again for getting her brother killed, (she's totally cool with it now, though. she…got over it pretty quick.) Caitlin shrugs off Pete's goodbye, as she is going with him to Montreal, because his painting told her so (via dead Isaac's absorbed power).
Claire doesn't make the cheerleading squad, but does make a new cheerleader friend (and a new cheerleader enemy! -- Debbie, the Head Cheerleader)
Under Mohinder's tutelage, Monica is learning how to use her powers (and be a gymnast), but Company Man Bob wants him to use an experimental version of "the cure" to try and take away Monica's powers. When Mohinder balks and goes running to HRG for support, he doesn't find the comfort he's seeking. In fairness, HRG was kind of busy beating up some old Russian fellow.
Claire and West scheme to take the head cheerleader "down a notch" via the old "public humiliation" trick.
Sylar comes onto Maya, and with Alejandro asleep in the backseat, he totally gets away with it. When Alejandro finally wakes up, Maya tells him that their twosome is now a threesome! (snap!)
Poor little Hiro is still in the past, still in love, and still a bit of a nerdstrom. But he's gonna help Kensei and Yaeko to save the Swordsmith (and the world?).
HRG wants Isaac's paintings, and he's not afraid to sic the Haitian on this Russian "Company" dude, Ivan, in order to get them. Ivan, who used to be HRG's mentor, wants him to come back to work for the Company instead.
The Maya/Sylar bunch gets stopped by the Border Patrol, and as expected, Maya "Black Oils" them all, which, even though he got knocked out himself, is exactly what Sylar wanted.
Mohinder stages a mini-revolt against Company Bob, refusing to "cure" Monica. Instead he picks up a chair and heaves it into a glass medicine cabinet (so un-Mohinder-ly), destroying all the experimental strains of the virus.
Claire and West's big plan includes liquor, a dead (Claire) body, and a "flying masked man." All in all, it seems to go over pretty well. Debbie looks totally ridiculous in front of everyone (and the cops).
In other "healer" news, 300+ years ago, Kensei is using his healing powers to help rescue Yaeko's Swordsmith pappy. Unfortunately, there are much larger issues at stake -- namely Kensei "smashing all the guns" in Japan, defeating the evil "White Beard" (who is planning to overthrow the Emperor) and preserving the Samurai way. As they're escaping, Hiro ends up having to use his teleportation powers (complete with "bamf!" action) to save Yaeko from a bullet that had her name on it. In happy accident fashion, this leads to Yaeko realizing that the Kensei that saved her a few days (weeks) ago wasn't a white English man, and instead was probably Hiro. She also realizes that he loves her, and that she loves him, and Hiro risks all of space and time to get a little taste of this lovin. If there is a downside to all this, it's that Kensei was hiding in the bushes, doing a bit of the old lookyloo and what not, and so now Hiro is about to find himself in a heck of a love triangle.
Claire feels really guilty and stupid about what she and West just did, but it doesn't matter, because Debbie is off the Cheer Squad, and Claire is taking her place!
Sylar basically details all of his evil plans (which include a lot killing and eating of brains) to Alejandro, promising that Alejandro will soon die at his hand. Because Alejandro speaks absolutely no English, though, Sylars confession pretty much falls on deaf ears, for all intents and purposes.
Ivan finally breaks and tells HRG where the paintings are being kept, and HRG totally kills him for it (hiding behind the claim that it was the only way to protect his family).
A broken hearted Kensei decides that it's time to betray Hiro and Yaeko (and the Swordsmith!) and hand them all over to White Beard's men.
Because of his little tantrum episode, Bob has assigned Mohinder a new partner, and it's Nikki (and/or Jessica?). She is basically there to keep him in line (and probably rough him up a little). Meanwhile, Bob drops Monica off at home, and basically sweet talks her into thinking that he's aces.
HRG gets his hands on all of Isaac's paintings, but…has no idea what they all mean.
And lastly, in Montreal, Peter and Caitlin finally arrive at their destination, just in time for Peter to time/space jump them out of there and into NYC, one year in the future, and once again, future NYC is all a mess!!! (although this time, maybe it's less burnt up?)
We'll maybe find out next week, I reckon. Also, remember the name Adam Monroe. Early indications suggest that it's gonna be important very soon. Okeydoke. See yous next week.
