Mick Garris's Masters of Horror series will return for a third season, only with a new studio and a new network. Lionsgate will replace Anchor Bay, though Showtime's replacement is unknown as of yet, according to Cinematical. Garris is also looking to start up a Masters of Horror movie franchise starting with some Stephen King adaptations. He wants to personally direct Bag of Bones from a screenplay by Matt Venne. Garris is also trying to get Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) to direct From a Buick 8. Thirdly Garris wants to adapt Gerald's Game. Cinematical also reports that Garris is trying to write, produce, and direct an original horror film called Dead, which there are currently no details about.

We've seen horror on the decline these past few years. Can Garris and his legion of old masters bring it back? Does he have too much on his plate at once? Do we need that much Stephen King all at the same time? Time will tell.
