News > Ten WWE Wrestlers Suspended for Illegal Substances

August 31, 2007

According to the , World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended ten wrestlers for violating its "wellness policy." Under this policy, performers are tested for such things as illegal substances and heart stress. No names have been released as of yet, nor have the specific reasons for the suspensions. However, the suspensions are the result of a tip from the Albany D.A.'s office which had been investigating illegal steroid sales, following the murder-suicide of Chris Benoit and his family. Benoit was found to have a steroid and other drugs in his system when he allegedly killed his wife and son before taking his own life. The WWE will reveal the names of the ten wrestlers on November 1st.

Surely most of these guys were using steroids before the Benoit tragedy and passing their "wellness policy" examinations. The WWE management probably just chose their ten least valuable performers as scapegoats. Well, we'll see in two months, won't we?
