This news is either bittersweet, or hella sweet, depending on how you look at it. Steven Sansweet, head of "Fan Relations" (Hawhat???) at Lucas Films did some fan relating earlier, dropping a couple of pretty juicy tidbits about the fate of the Star Wars franchise. Sansweet confirmed what the world already knew but wouldn't admit: there will be no more Star Wars movies. In their place, however, will be at least two new television-only miniseries. Hot? Maybe. Miniseries in general have a pretty spotty track record. The first series will be entirely CG animated (Hawhat???). Titled Star Wars: Clone Wars, the series is well into the production cycle and is set to air sometime next year. The second miniseries will be a live action joint masterminded by George and Rick McCullen, and due out sometime between 2009 and 2010. Star Wars is Dead. Long Live Star Wars.
