E! Entertainment Television is going into production on a Las Vegas-set unscripted show from Ryan Seacrest Prods. and Go Go Luckey Prods., the company behind MTV's "Laguna Beach."
This marks the first series to come out of the RSP development and production deal with the network.
"Paradise City" is a weekly half-hour series that will offer an inside look at the twentysomethings who live and work in Las Vegas and will be shot at various casinos, nightclubs, restaurants and private homes. The eight-episode show, from Go Go Luckey in association with RSP, is set to debut on E! next year.
"Go Go Luckey has a great track record with real-life dramas featuring strong personalities, and Ryan has an incomparable sense of what young viewers want," said Ted Harbert, president and CEO of Comcast Entertainment Group. "We believe that together they'll produce great television."
Go Go Luckey's Julie Auerbach added that the show will focus on people who have moved to Vegas to "take their shot at stardom," while Seacrest said the city is "an endless playground for entertainment, and so is E! -- making it a perfect marriage."
RSP signed a comprehensive development and production agreement in January with E! Networks, which now houses the company in its Los Angeles headquarters. Seacrest also is executive producer and host of the network's "Live From the Red Carpet" and celebrity interview specials. In addition to television, the RSP umbrella includes part ownership in many Los Angeles and Las Vegas hot spots.
In addition to "Laguna Beach," Go Go Luckey's credits include A&E Network's "Rollergirls" and USA's docu-movie "The Great American Christmas." The company is headed by Gary and Julie Auerbach.
