News > Salma Hayek rides Ugly Betty all the way to the bank

May 15, 2007

Salma Hayek is a happy woman. Hot on the heels of the success of her wholesome new series, "Ugly Betty," the beautiful actor is set to take on another roll. , Hayek has a two-year deal with ABC, promising to develop new shows in conjunction with her production partner, Jose Tamez. The two will also continue to write and produce for Ugly Betty. The pair signed on for an undisclosed sum, but you can bet that the former Telenovela star's loyalty didn't come cheap. Let's just hope that future Hayek-penned series take on a decidedly less, umm, clean cut air, as they overwhelming self-righteousness of Ugly Betty has proven to be a bit grating.
