Oliver Hudson will star in CBS' midseason comedy "Rules of Engagement," says The Hollywood Reporter.

The series follows an engaged couple, a married couple and a happily single guy. It was written by Tom Hertz, whose television credits include ""The Jon Stewart Show," "Dennis Miller Live," "Spin City" and "The King of Queens."

Hudson will play Adam, the engaged man. He replaces Paulo Costanzo, who played the role in the pilot. The role of Adam's fiancée also is being recast. Kathleen Rose Perkins played the part in the pilot.

Hudson joins Patrick Warburton and Megyn Price, who play the married couple, and Greg Pitts, who plays the single guy.
