Nurse Laverne Roberts will live to see another day. The actor that portrays the ornery yet lovable nurse on NBC's Scrubs will return next season, though she'll be taking on the role of Shirley Robert's, Laverne's twin sister. How very creative, Scrubs. When he decided to kill off her character in an attempt to pander to rating's boxes everywhere, it seems that the show's creator, Bill Lawrence, made a promise to actress Aloma Wright that if the show did get picked up for a 7th season she would remain employed. Lawrence apparently thought that there was not a chance in hell that NBC would re-up their contract. Seems as though he thought wrong. I don't know about you, but the return of the same actor playing her twin sister reeks of hastily prepared damage control. How very professional.
