NBC has attached director Doug Liman to helm a two-hour pilot for a revamped Knight Rider, according to .

The article states that the goal is to make the show a "Transformers-inspired reworking" of the role that The Hoff made famous.

There is a likely chance the two-hour telefilm/pilot will be picked up by NBC and turned into a series. Whether this means all 70s/80s SciFi shows are going to be revamped and become "Transformers-inspired" has yet to be seen.

But the article hints that KITT and other "evil cars" may, in fact, transform.

Liman has previously directed The Bourne Identity and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
