NBC is developing a pilot from writer Rand Ravich about a cop who uses a Zen-like approach to capture criminals, says Variety.

"Life," from NBC Universal TV Studio, follows the story of a cop who's wrongly imprisoned. He's eventually released and rejoins the force as a changed man.

Ravich is set to write and executive produce the hourlong drama; Far Shariat is aboard as an executive producer.

NBC hopes to begin production on "Life" later this year.
