News > NBC cancels "Studio 60"

May 11, 2007

I guess we'll never know if Bradley Whitford and Amanda Peet's characters will get married...because "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" has been, by all accounts, cancelled.

The extremely pricey and poor ratings performer had been taken off the air in the fall while the competing "behind the scenes" of a sketch show show "30 Rock" kept doing better and better, both in the ratings and creatively.

Truth is, it was pretty bad from the beginning. I'll admit I watched it, but as soon as it was apparent the show was over serious, the sketches weren't funny (and don't give me that "they're not supposed to be!" crap) and the Aaron Sorkin dialogue was as crappy as ever, it was doomed.
