Noah posted this picture the other day, of the new Optimus Prime, but just today spilled some more proverbial beans on the upcoming Cartoon Network/Hasbro collaboration. This is apparently the first time Hasbro is co-producing with Cartoon Network directly instead of with Japanese production company Takara, which will result in a drastically different product.

Spokespeople say that the new series will be radically different from previous incarnations of the series. Notably they will be "adding humor, never-before-seen characters and a new premise in which the Autobots fight evil humans in Superhero fashion much more frequently than they battle the Decepticons."

Oh boy. "Adding humor?" I can't help but have mental flashes of Jar-Jar Binks. Don't they realize that there already was a kitschy humor to the original Transformers? I mean did anyone see the Transformers Movie? It had such classic lines as "I've got better things to do tonight than die" and music by Weird Al! Humor need not be added!
