News > More Delays in the Production of 24 Season 7

Jack Bauer can finally take a nap. says that production has been delayed another two weeks on the seventh season of 24, as the writers need time to complete enough scripts for the whole season. This is not the first obstacle the crew has faced. Production was originally supposed to begin in late July-early August but the African plot lines that had been intended to mix things up for the show didn't work out, pushing the start date back to August 27. Now they won't get started until September 10. No word yet if this is going to affect the premier date in January.
So far the only addition to the cast that we know of is Cherry Jones as the U.S. President. You might remember her from Signs or The Village (I certainly don't) or as Linus's mother from Ocean's Twelve. But yes, it seems our previous intel (that's what CTU would call it) about a female president was correct.
I don't even care that season six was weak, I'm too into it to get out now. But it would be nice if they didn't just keep repeating themselves. It's unfortunate that they're now going to have to rush through the last couple scripts rather than really work them out. This show might need some fixing.
