Reality TV > Matt Lauer Forgets Seatbelt, Bound for Cuba

This was a busy morning for Matt Lauer: not only did report that he is finally going to Cuba for his "where in the world is Matt Lauer" segment, but the Today Show host also forgot to wear his seatbelt whilst interviewing Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney during a bumpy SUV ride.
Lauer interviewed New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine just a few weeks before his interview with Romney; Corzine was hospitalized for -- wait for it -- not wearing his seatbelt when his SUV crashed on the Garden State Parkway. Lauer asked Corzine about it, Corzine apologized repeatedly, and just today Lauer made the same mistake when interviewing Mitt Romney (who, incidentally, also failed to wear his seatbelt).
Today producers noticed the screwup before airing the piece, and had Lauer address his mistake to preface the piece.
Additionally, after 18 months of planning, Lauer is finally going to Cuba. He won't interview Fidel Castro or anything (who, by the by, hasn't been seen in public for at least ten months), but the fact that he'll be in Cuba at all is newsworthy. Let's just hope he wears his seatbelt while he's there.
