Luke Perry has signed on with the ensemble cast of HBO's new David Milch drama "John From Cincinnati."

Perry had done a guest shot in the "Cincinnati" pilot and has now signed on to be a regular on the series, which began production this month for an anticipated summer premiere date. The series revolves around Southern California's surfing culture and a dysfunctional family. Bruce Greenwood, Rebecca De Mornay, Ed O'Neill and Luis Guzman also star.

Perry, best known for his stint on Fox's "Beverly Hills, 90210," most recently starred in the short-lived NBC drama "Windfall." He also starred the Showtime sci-fi series "Jeremiah" from 2002-04.

Perry is repped by Paradigm and manager Steve Himber.
