Here's some damn exciting news courtesy of HBO and Playtone. The two companies are on the verge of inking a deal that would bring an adaptation of Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy to the small screen. JFK+HBOn = hotness. The series will follow J. Harvey Oswald's rise to assassin status, up through the shooting of JFK and the live television murder of Oswald. It will be executive-produced by Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, and Gary Goetzman. The book, penned by historian Vincent Bugliosi, is one of the most convincing pieces of evidence in support of Oswald as a sole, psychopathic, murderer (sorry conspiracy theory fans).

HBO will also produce a documentary to run concurrently with the dramatic series. This is an incredibly exciting development, bringing one of the highest profile/most respected production companies together (again) with one the most reputable networks around for a truly compelling collaboration. There's no word on when this might start production, but let's hope things ramp up sooner than later.
