Hugh Jackman is setting sail with "Voyages," an hourlong drama he will produce for CBS with scribe-helmer Max Makowski.

Potential skein has a "Rashomon"-style format revolving around passengers on a high-end cruise line. Jackman and partner John Palmero will exec produce via their Seed Prods. banner and CBS Paramount Network Television.

Makowski, whose Singapore-set crime thriller "One Last Dance" made a splash earlier this year at Sundance and Cannes, will write and direct the hour. Eye has made a script commitment to the project.

"Voyages" is being developed as part of a three-for-one production deal Seed inked with CBS (Daily Variety, Aug. 11).

"We were looking for a new way to tell a story on the small screen, and Max hit on it with this idea," Jackman said of the project.Palmero said the hour will combine elements of both serialized and self-contained series. In addition to "Voyages," Seed is attached to the Eye's reworking of Blighty hit "Viva Blackpool," which Sony Pictures Television is producing (Daily Variety, Oct. 6). Jackman is set to guest star in the "Blackpool" pilot.

On the feature front, Makowski is set to helm an untitled crime drama from Dave Callaham that's been set up at Paramount Pictures (Daily Variety, Aug. 22).

Jackman and Seed are repped by Endeavor; Makowski’s repped by UTA.
