News > Imus and CBS Settle Out of Court

Disgraced former radio personality Don Imus and CBS have reached a settlement out of court according to TVGuide, though the exact details have yet to be disclosed. It is rumored that he received less than half the value of his five year $40 million contract, after threatening to sue for $120 million. The other major repercussion of this settlement is that Imus is now free to seek work from other broadcast outlets, which he fully intends to do according to WENN. You can't help but sort of get the feeling that Imus is making a profit off his racist and sexist remarks. Sure he might only be making $20 million out of the original $40 million, but he doesn't have to work at all for that money AND he can simultaneously get a new show which will earn tons of money because of his status as a controversial figure. Oh well. So much for punishment.
