News > Henry Rollins Gets His Oprah On

June 1, 2007

Or something along those lines. William Shatner is set to appear on Rollins' The Henry Rollins Show tonight at 11 pm on IFC. The show looks to be a doozy, with Rollins set to wax angrily about 9/11, the occupation of Iraq, and his experience with Rhesus Macaque monkeys in the Belgian Congo during the 1860s (hint: only two of the three subjects are real). The second half of the show will feature an in-depth conversation with none other than Mr. Star Trek, William Shatner. Shatner will share his thoughts on Hollywood friendships, and his career. Here's a snippet from the interview:

"I was a member of an acting company for three years in Ottawa, Canada making $40-50 a week. Money wasn't an issue - I was single, I was living in cars, I was sleeping on rope mattresses, I had to choose between doing my laundry or going to see a movie - what was an issue then was how I would survive and yet be an actor."

Nice synopsis, guys. Rollins will then wrap up the show with a rant about the position of humans on the natural food chain. What the hell?? If this sounds intriguing, or like the kind of train wreck you'd like to witness, then please, by all means, tune in this evening.
