HBO has ordered a scripted comedy series based on the New Zealand folk music parody duo Flight of the Conchords.

The tentatively titled Flight of the Conchords will feature the original songs of the duo, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, who will also star. HBO confirmed it ordered 12 half-hour episodes, including the pilot.

The Conchords' credits include a BBC2 radio series and appearances on NBC's Late Night With Conan O'Brien and CBS' The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. They also were featured in an episode of HBO's One Night Stand.
