News > Fox sues website for "The O.J.Simpsons"

May 14, 2007

Fox doesn't seem to have a sense of humor about a "Simpsons" parody that's been going around the net called "The O.J. Simpsons," reports TV Guide. The parody is quite obviously about O.J. Simpson, but done in the style of "The Simpsons," with the same music and similar animation.

The short, which was created by the website Broadcaster.com, has been going around the net for at least a year, so the timing is weird for Fox. Could this be a stunt to get publicity for "The Simpsons" movie that's coming out this summer? Yes. It could be.

The CEO of Broadcaster.com has tried to defend his short, saying: '"Our goal is to be a respecter of content rights and at the same time find legal ways to bring our members the content they enjoy."' Well, don't use music you don't own the license to then, or you WILL get sued.

Here's the short in question. It's not even funny, so it's soo not even worth it.
