News > Finally, Dr. Who Gets a Companion

It is an absolute godsend that after, seemingly, weeks and weeks of geek debate over who would play the new companion of David Tennant's 'Dr. Who', BBC is a decision has been made.  Longtime viewers of the show will be happy to know that Catherine Tate will be assuming the role of the new Companion.  Tate was originally seen the 2006 Christmas Special, playing a runaway bride who is beamed aboard the Tardis.  The character was asked at the end of that show whether or not she'd like to become a Companion, but she declined.  Seems like the money they were offering Ms. Tate, got a little better this go around, and she's most certainly accepted

Again, I've never seen this show, and, truthfully from all the pictures and synopsis' I've read it is still a baffling enigma to me, but color me glad that this piece of news has broken, as I won't have to think about time-travelling Brits and their weird, lady friends who follow them around.
