The Farrelly brothers are partnering with writer Wil Calhoun ("Friends") and producer Ben Silverman ("Ugly Betty") to adapt the BBC series "I'm With Stupid," reports Variety.

NBC has given a put pilot commitment to the project, which would come from NBC Universal TV Studio, BBC Worldwide Productions, Silverman's Reveille and the Farrellys' Conundrum Entertainment.

The comedy takes on the often-taboo topic of disability by centering on an unlucky guy who becomes friends with a man who uses a wheelchair -- and moves into his home for the disabled.

Peter Farrelly is aboard to direct, while he and his brother Bobby will executive produce, along with Calhoun (who'll write), Silverman, Bradley Thomas and Kenton Allen.
