The Family get together will have to wait just a little longer.
Seth McFarlane, the creator of the Fox animated hits Family Guy and American Dad!, for which he also performs many of the voices, is still negotiating with the network on his new contract, reports Daily Variety. McFarlane's current contract expires in a few months, and production on the Guy's 2007-2008 season is scheduled to begin now.
The production office of the show remains empty however, with staff being told not to report to work until the contract is finalized. McFarlane is holding out for a better deal from the net after both of the shows have become ratings hits, helping Fox anchor its Sunday night animation block.
McFarlane is also slated to coexec produce the live-action Fox sitcom The Winner. Fox says negotiations are friendly and that the deal will be fixed up in the next few weeks.
Family Guy originally ran on Fox from 1999 to 2003. In 2005 Fox aired McFarlane's American Dad!, and fan demand convinced the net to bring back Guy. Both shows air on Sunday nights after The Simpsons.
