Expecting a baby around Labor Day weekend? That bundle of joy could mean big bucks if your timing is right.
CMT will award $50,000 to the mother of the first baby born in America during the premiere of Jeff Foxworthy's new sketch comedy series, "Foxworthy's Big Night Out," on Sept. 1 (8:30 p.m. EDT).
The winner will be the earliest delivery during the local premiere airtime. In the event of a tie, a random drawing will be conducted, the network announced Monday.
To be eligible, the new mom must submit an entry form, found at www.foxworthy.cmt.com.
"With eight babies born every minute in this country, it's likely that a baby will be born the exact minute that the new series premieres," said Andy Holeman, CMT's vice president of consumer marketing, in a statement. "Then, the new mother can start to plan her `big night out."'
Foxworthy, 47, became a mainstream hit with his "you might be a redneck if ..." jokes. Each week, his "Big Night Out" will feature a country-music artist performing songs and appearing in comedy sketches.
Kenny Rogers will be a guest in the first episode.
