Chen Guokun (Kung Fu Hustle) has been cast in the role of Bruce Lee in an upcoming, Chinese State TV biopic mini-series. The 40 part show will attempt to tell the story of Lee's entire enigmatic life, and will be shot largely on location in China, Hong Kong and the United States. The mini-series is part of a broad campaign to promote Chinese culture worldwide in the run-up to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. No word yet, but it will certainly be interesting to see how Chinese State TV handles the mysterious circumstances surrounding Bruce Lee's death in 1973.
