News > CBS steps into the text-messaging world

Here's one for the ages. CBS, the network that caters to more old people than the geriatric ward of my local hospital, has decided to implement an "exciting" new system. According to TVGuide.com, the network has hooked up a new text messaging system that can alert eager viewers if their favorite sports game or TV show will be starting late. The system is designed to key viewers in whenever "regularly scheduled programming" is interrupted due to an unexpected news event, lengthy sports game, or OJ Simpson car chase. Pretty sweet! No more mad dashes to the TV, only to realize that the news is covering yet another boooooring natural disaster at the expense of the latest episode of CSI: Kansas City. Phew.
