"Smith" may be dead, but CBS and producer Warner Bros. TV are giving the John Wells drama a big online push.
The Eye on Thursday added the skein's four remaining unaired episodes to its Innertube broadband service, along with the three segs that aired on the net. Segs will stream for free over the next month, with CBS selling a few commercials in each episode.
WBTV, meanwhile, is selling all seven episodes online via iTunes, AOL and Amazon.com. Earlier this year, studio generated decent buzz for "Aquaman" by selling the failed pilot for the CW project on iTunes.
Fans of "Smith" wondering just how things would turn out can also access detailed episode notes on CBS.com. Story outlines explain what would have happened through episode 13.
"Smith" isn't the only failed frosh of the 2006-07 season to find life online. NBC is now streaming a new episode of "Kidnapped" on NBC.com every week.
