CBS has pulled the plug on the midseason drama series Waterfront, which starred Joe Pantoliano as the charismatic and ethically challenged mayor of Providence, Rhode Island.

Sources cited creative reasons, high production costs, and limited shelf space at the network for the cancellation. Four episodes, including the pilot, were shot. The cast also included William Baldwin and Mary Stuart Masterson.
