Anyone who happened to see LL Cool J's cameo on 30 Rock was reminded of the fact that this guy can act "decently" and, if nothing else, has a fair helping of brand name recognition. He may not be the most gifted dude in the world, but his name still carries a certain cache. Banking on Ladies Love Cool James' draw, TVGuide is reporting that CBS is close to cementing a deal to bring 6 episodes of LL Cool J's new sitcom The Man to the network's airwaves. Created by CSI's Anthony Zuiker, the show stars Cool J as an undercover LAPD cop who is forced to balance his stressful work life with the day to day challenges of caring for an orphaned kid. Sounds pretty absurd. If/when the ink dries on the contract, we should see the episodes surface by mid-season. $10 says this one won't get picked up for more than the initial 6.
