News > Cartoon Network finally has general manager after "Aqua Teen" scandal

May 3, 2007

reports Stuart Snyder, formerly the general manager of GameTap, will now serve as the general manager of all of Cartoon Network. Snyder replaces Jim Samples, who left his post in January after a stunt from Cartoon Network's Adult Swim show "Aqua Teen unger Force" was considered an act of terrorism in Boston. Personally, I think the stunt, which was figures from the "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" show lit up and placed all over Boston, was hilarious and the only thing that was embarrassing was Samples being fired for a stunt he had little to nothing to do with.

Snyder's focus for Cartoon Network will be to build up the family-oriented band (LAME) and to increase ties to video gaming with the network. Sweet...so we can expect Adult Swim to get more marginalized and in its place a greater focus on web minigames on the Cartoon Network site. Sweeeet..
