News > Captain Mal Hunting For Housewives?

If there is anyone more deserving of a recurring role on television series than Nathan Fillion, I would love someone to point them out for me.  The man has been bounced from one worthy show ('Firefly') to another ('Drive'), never exactly knowing where he's going to find solid ground again.  Both of his former shows were exciting, fresh takes on cliched genres, and the stuffy American television audience just couldn't stomach them.  Fillion has now landed himself a role on 'Desperate Housewives', pretty much the antithesis of Nathan Fillion -a lazy show that gets by on good looks and sensational plot lines.

Whatever, adding Fillion to anything is a good call, and Jesus, the man needs to eat.  Though he's only in talks now, if he signs on he'll play the much younger husband of Dana Delaney, an actress who was originally sought for the role of Bree (Marcia Cross).  The couple comes to good old Wisteria Lane toting a young daughter ('Heroes' Lyndsey Fonseca) and surely some sort of startling secret.  Oh, and hopefully some scandalous lustiness that will somehow affect oh-so-clumsy Teri Hatcher.

Again, at least Fillion will be on a show that people actually watch.  Maybe it'll garner him a little attention and he can star on a good show again.
