September 12, 2007

reports that Brett Ratner and Neil Tolkin are working on a police drama with NBC that Fox had started work on last year. Ratner will direct the pilot. The premise?

"Blue" is an ensemble hour about a rookie NYPD police officer. The twist: The newbie officer is a Harvard grad who decides to return to the family beat -- law enforcement.

Get it! "Blue" because he's a cop and "blood" because it's in his family and "blue blood" because he went to college! Oh Brett Ratner, you punsmith.
