June 26, 2007

Phil Spector is a triumphantly conflicted man. One part musical genius, one part homicidal maniac, 2 parts party animal, Spector is nothing if not fascinating. that he father of the "Wall of Sound" has agreed to sit down with the BBC, granting the British network unprecedented access to his personal mania. This should be one hell of an interview. The BBC will be producing the interview as a 90 minute documentary, interspersing random biographical and musical information throughout the course of the show. The film comes preceding Spector's upcoming trial for the murder of a young woman in his home. Will the final verdict play into the movie? Perhaps, but more importantly, does anyone really care? Spector is a musical genius and a lunatic. Take him or leave him folks, he ain't changin'.
