The Price is Right has never done it for me.  I couldn't get past the tacky set design, the gaudy colors and the often times obnoxious contestants.  I'm just not a fan.

But, dislike for his show aside, I've always been a fan of Bob Barker.  I loved his mean spirited golfing in Happy Gilmore.  I'm fascinated and enthralled by his lifestyle choices, and his need to help others, man or animal.  Bob Barker is a grade-A fellow from everything I've read, and his departure from daytime television is a real loss.  But the man is over seventy and it's time for him to hang up the microphone.  I'm sad, you're sad, my girlfriend is really sad.

CBS has announced that the final Bob Barker hosted Price Is Right will air twice on June 15th.  Once during it's regularly slotted time during the day, and again in the hour before The Daytime Emmys.  Hopefully the final bow will be a special affair, maybe a little star-studded, and CBS will send the Crown Prince of Game Shows off with as much respect and dignity as he's offered them during his time there.  Here's to you Mr. Barker, here's to you.
