News > Apple seeking price cut for online shows

brings great news for us, bad news for Hollywood: Apple wants to cut download prices in half for TV shows. Instead of the $1.99 per episode, it would become $.99 an episode. This sheds more light on why NBC may have left the download service, since Variety points out it could severely harm DVD sales. (Regular DVD boxset of Heroes: around $40. Buying the season on iTunes under this new plan: $23).

Many companies working with Apple are bristling at this suggestion, but we'll see where it goes down the line.
