News > Anna Nicole Continues To Help Trashy Things Survive

I've yet to really figure out what MyNetwork TV really is.  It seems to have an established stable of shows with names like My Mother, My Lover and all of them seem to ride a fine line between primetime soap opera and Cinemax softcore.  Also, I think one of the shows features David Charvet of Baywatch fame, an actor that I was pretty sure was using his good looks to sell bench advertisements in Ohio.  Basically, the network is television's most recent -- and seemingly blatant -- purveyor of filthy, filthy trash television.

Not surprisingly, MyNetwork TV's biggest hit so far has come from a double-team of the two dueling Queen's of Trash.  Wednesday night found the trashtastic pairing of Anna Nicole Smith: Centerfold Revisited and Britney Spears: A Pop Idol Exposed bring the network its highest household ratings yet.  From 8-10 on Wednesday, Ms. "Unremarkable Anus" and Bald-Headed Loon helped the network to a 200 percent increase over the previous week.  Sure, the competition was a tribute to The Price is Right, but still, that's a pretty big turn out for rehashes of tabloid princesses' lives.

Oh, American public, you never fail to surprise and disgust me.
