News > Amy Sherman-Palladino Speaks!
May 21, 2007
The good people over at Entertainment Weekly have landed a short, but semi-revealing interview with former-Gilmore Girls show-runner Amy Sherman-Palladino. The short-but-sweet chit-chat focuses on Sherman-Palladino's new show, The Return of Jezebel Jones. The show centers around a children's book author (Parker Posey) who can't get knocked up, so she asks her estranged sister (Lauren Ambrose) to be the surrogate mother. Sounds like the show will be filled with the writer/directors trademark snappy banter as she takes pride in a 17-page conversation that occurs in the first episode of the half-hour FOX show.
The interview paints Sherman-Palladino as a woman who really invests herself in her shows, and you can feel the anger, sadness and love emitting from her when she talks about her unceremonious booting from Gilmore Girls. Also, she refers to the interviewer as "honey," and who doesn't like a lady who calls you honey?
