Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder is trying his hand at live-action comedy with his new series The Super Rumble Mixshow, airing on SuperDeluxe.com beginning next month. 20 mini-webisodes have been ordered which will include sketch comedy as well as other formats that convey McGruder's racially-charged social message. McGruder told , "The Boondocks is something I'm very invested in, but there's a lot of other things that express my point of view that don't take 19-20 months [referring to the production time necessary for most animated shows]. This is just opening up a whole lot of creative opportunities."

Actor John Witherspoon will participate by lending his voice to a recurring skit called "Negrology."
